Dr. Nixon Niyonzima

Biography

Dr. Nixon Niyonzima is a Medical Doctor. He holds a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Washington (UW), a Master’s degree in Global Health from Duke University, and another Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). He also possesses a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery from Makerere University. He has worked at the Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) for the past thirteen years and is currently the Head of Education and Research. He is a research scientist focusing on the description of the mutational profile of cancers in Uganda and the development of affordable and accessible diagnostics for these cancers
