The team visited\u00a0the\u00a0Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) extended to PCAUI to learn about the role of Civil society in coordinating and supporting the government to strengthen palliative care as a component of comprehensive care.<br><br>The Hospital General Reference Charit\u00e9 Maternelle team, led by Dr. Jules Kafitiye, plans to set up a cancer treatment center in the Kivu region. The discussions at the engagement also underscored the role of the multidisciplinary team when providing holistic care for children and adults with cancer together with their families. This collaboration followed another visit by a team of Heamato\u2013oncology fellows from the UCI.
