It provides home-based, holistic palliative care. &nbsp;We operate in the Busoga Region in Uganda, with an area of 10,000 km2, and &gt; 3.5 million people (2014).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>In 2023 RHHJ cared for 1301 people, 64 % were women, and 7 % were children. 72% of patients cared for have cancer.&nbsp;64% have cancer, 8% have cancer &amp; HIV\/AIDS, 8% have severe HIV\/AIDS and 20 % have other life-limiting diseases.<\/p>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"380\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/pcauganda.org\/new-progress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/RHHJ-stats.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6260 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pcauganda.org\/new-progress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/RHHJ-stats.png 380w, https:\/\/pcauganda.org\/new-progress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/RHHJ-stats-300x213.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 380px) 100vw, 380px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are <strong>34<\/strong> staff and <strong>85<\/strong> community volunteers. Buyende Field Office cares for 23% of enrolled patients. Since 2019, RHHJ has trained 350+ health workers in a 3-day basic palliative care course. Additionally, RHHJ is training government health workers in cervical cancer screening.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><strong>Access to treatment is a human right<\/strong>.
