Palliative Care Nurse Specialist

Rose Kiwanuka is a Rotarian, the first palliative care nurse in Uganda. A founding member of Hospice Africa Uganda and Palliative care Association of Uganda. The former Country Director of PCAU. She has supported the development of hospice and hospital palliative care teams across the country. She is an international palliative care advocate, a trainer and mentor. She played a pivotal role in developing the Advanced Diploma in Palliative care Nursing curriculum. She established a Palliative care Diploma scholarship program for nurses and clinical officer so as to increase opioid prescribers in the country. She now heads a community PC initiative.
