Ms. Grace Nayiga
Board Secretary
Grace Nayiga is a Practicing Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and the Executive Director at UGANET, where she leads a dynamic team of social justice advocates. Grace brings a deep understanding and experience of CSO leadership and Governance. She has Governance experience drawn from several experiences, having previously served as the General Secretary for LASPNET and currently serving as a Board Secretary and Member of the Executive Committee at PCAU, and a Board Member for NAFOPHANU. Additionally, she is a valued member of the IRC-NEAR Global South CSOs Platform and the Spotlight Initiative 2:0 CSNRG- Uganda.
As a Health and Human Rights Advocate with over 10 years of experience, Grace is deeply committed to promoting social justice for women, PLHIVs, Persons living with Disabilities, and Palliative Care patients.
As a long-standing member of the legal profession, Grace is affiliated with prominent organizations such as FIDA Uganda, Uganda Law Society (ULS), and the East Africa Law Society (EALS), demonstrating her dedication to upholding the principles of justice and human rights. At UGANET, Grace oversees the delivery of the organization’s mandate on Access to Justice, advocacy, and strategic litigation to address HIV discriminatory laws and policies, Ending Violence against women and girls, and working with Leaders, Institutions, and Communities to address inequities that hinder Social Justice in the context of HIV, Health, and Gender. Her leadership and expertise have been instrumental in driving positive change and promoting human rights in Uganda and beyond.
As a proud mother of three beautiful girls, one of whom is differently abled, living with autism and Down syndrome, Grace’s personal experiences have deepened her commitment to promoting social justice and advocating for the rights of marginalized communities. Her journey as a mother has not only strengthened her resolve but also informed her work as a Health and Human Rights Advocate, driving her to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all.”
