Kabale Christian Care

Kabale Christian Care is a non-profit organization established in July of 2021 to rekindle hope and reduce suffering among vulnerable people throughout Uganda by advocating and providing end-of-life care wherever needed.

Our Services at a Glance: See it in Action

KCC is the first NGO in South Western Uganda to specialize in providing palliative care. Since KCC began, our team has cared for over 200 patients within a 25km radius of Kabale town. Kabale is unique due to its hilly terrain, which makes it difficult for people in rural areas in need of palliative care to seek care at the government hospital. Therefore, we make it a priority for our staff to bring care to the patients wherever, and whenever.
KCC is also unique because the management is investing in young healthcare workers who have sparked an interest in palliative care. All staff are enrolled in a palliative care short course and the medical clinical officer is soon earning her Bachelors in palliative care. Continuing education is important to provide the best possible care to the patients and family members enrolled in care in the decades to come.

We are very grateful for the caring and supportive team at PCAU. We wouldn’t be where we are today if it weren’t for the team at PCAU. They are a continuous support system to our team in offering their expertise in the Ugandan health landscape, advocacy, coordination, and unity among stakeholders.

PCAU has even stepped in financially to help KCC achieve its objectives despite the limited resources that they have available. It’s remarkable to have them as the foundation as they lead every palliative care organization in the right direction to make palliative care accessible to all in Uganda.
