Capacity Building Manager
Joyce Zalwango is the Capacity Building Manager at PCAU. She Coordinates activities aimed at strengthening the development of palliative care such as palliative care training and mentorship, quarterly PCAU National and Branch update meetings, monitoring the morphine supply chain in the country as well as working hand in hand with the Programs Manager and the Country Director in advocating for palliative care in the country.
Joyce is a Registered nurse with a diploma in Clinical Palliative Care from Hospice Africa Uganda. Currently undertaking a degree in palliative care from Makerere University and public health from Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi.
She’s passionate about patient care and improving the quality of life of patients and their families faced with a life-threatening illness. As a nurse and a trainer, she has been exposed to the dynamic burden of inadequate palliative care service distribution in the country which motivates her to go an extra mile to reach all in need through the transfer of palliative care knowledge and skills to health workers, non-health professionals and other stakeholders.
